While I agree to an extent. War is the only really effective and (somewhat) controllable population control method we have here on Earth. We're gonna need it until we perfect space travel and are able to expand beyond Earth.

Military service in America is volutary, we don't "SEND" people, they enlist.

Spit from the words of a mother :) This is sad but it makes me happy as well to know people are starting to speak their minds without fear. Great snapshot.

Ummmm. Last time i checked it's a volunteer military. No one sent your son, he sent himself. Nice way of honoring him.

Nice capture... but I would never wish for anyone to send their own children to a war even if that person did support it 100 percent... That person would be a douchebag. I think most servicemen volunteered regardless of what their parents said...

I really agree with this woman. I live in a rather small town, and the military, air force, Navy and such recruit on school property pretty much every week to teenagers. I think it's sad and pathetic. Teens are naturally agressive and hormonal, so I think it's just wrong. :[

I think the majority of people that support the current war in Iraq DO have children or a family member who have served militarily or in some capacity or another. Good photo, though.

Anyone who goes to the war in Iraq goes there willingly. At least we're not drafting kids with out their permission.

Great shot here, From the canadian perspective I completely agree with this sign, A dead soldier fighting another countries beliefs came home last week for burial. This is no offense to America. Just a sad truth. Thanks for sharing this photo!

The only problem I have with this is..It's a 100% vol. military.
Yeah, so rich people have $$ and don't need to join but I have 17 yrs Navy service. I've met rich kids who felt a need to help their country. They usually only do 4 yrs and get the hell out HAHA but they do some time.
That's why I can't stand System of a Down anymore. He sings about "Why do they always send the poor" but that just happens to be who joins to get off the streets or people who are from grass roots, blue collar families.

Not in every country. The photo was taken in Washington but its message is universal.
And in my opinion the message is "stop saying that something should be done, do it yourself".
Like an idiot watching a girl being raped and shouting "Catch the reaper!".

can i ask if you agree with this sign? the war might not make as much sense as a lot of people originally believed but right now our military is 100% voluntary. also why would someone send there children to a war if they believed? if someone believes in the war, or government, or supporting the troops they have the opportunity to join or send the troops letters. just my opinion.

Nate
